With his soft, mellow sound and a contemporary country vibe, Michael Johnson has been delighting audiences since he burst onto the scene in 1978 with his hit song "Bluer Than Blue". Johnson has been studying music and perfecting his signature sound for more than three decades, and has become one of the most sought-after American singer/songwriter in the country. He has dabbled in American pop, country and folk music, creating a sound that is uniquely Michael Johnson.

Michael Johnson grew up in the thriving Denver metropolis, soaking in all the music scene had to offer. He began playing the guitar at age 13, and continued his passion into his college years at Colorado State University where he studied music. But his college career was cut short when he won an international contest that included a record deal with Epic Records. He released his first single "Hills", that was written and sung by Johnson. He then began touring clubs and colleges, where he met receptive audiences at every turn. After his tour, Johnson wanted to expand his musical knowledge and become a better guitar player, so he left the states behind and set off for Barcelona, Spain to the Liceu Conservatory, studying with famed classical guitarists. When he returned to the US with his newfound skills, he joined a group called the New Society and did a tour of the Orient. He became a part of a few other groups, always finding solo success again and again. He even starred in an off-Broadway production that visited New York, Los Angeles and Chicago. When he was finished conquering the stage, he began writing and performing his own music again. He signed with a new record label and began to focus on perfecting his sound and his vocal performance. He teamed up with Brent Maher and Steve Gibson in 1978 to create the chart-topping hit "Bluer Than Blue", that hit the Top 40, peaking at No. 12 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. He also hit the R&B charts with his single "Almost Like Being in Love", that went to No. 91. Throughout the 80’s and 90’s he found more success and a new love for contemporary country. His mellow style and soft, emotional lyrics were a perfect fit for the country style, and he flourished in his new sound. Since then, he has continued to bring his unique style and soothing voice to audiences everywhere, gaining fans wherever he goes. You won't want to miss seeing this music legend in person!
